Courses and Guidance
Tailored support for those wanting to start or progress their own family history.
Always wanted to delve into your family history but not sure where to start? Tried out your online subscription to a genealogy site but can't find what you're looking for? Hit a brick wall with your research and need some help? Or would you like some guidance and support at stages along your family history journey?
I offer Courses suitable for genealogy novices either on a One 2 One basis, or for a couple of people who are happy to share - a great way for friends or two generations of a family to spend time together! Step by step, discover the main types of records available, learn how to search effectively, understand and interpret results and ensure your research is accurate. If you've already made a start, but would like to gain experience in one or more aspects, just pick the Modules that interest you.
I specialise in researching those who served in the Commonwealth forces during the First and Second World Wars, in particular those who made the ultimate sacrifice, and can offer tailored sessions to help you connect with your military ancestors.
Lesson Notes covering the topics for discussion, examples and tips are included.
If you've hit a problem with your research or are having trouble interpreting a record, consider a one-off 30 minute Advice Session. Guided Research with individual support starts from 1 hour.
Depending on individual circumstances, sessions might be by phone or online, or in person at your home or your local library.
For groups, especially family history societies interested in military history research, a Workshop may be more suitable
